PRESS RELEASE FROM BICESTER VILLAGE
BICESTER CRICKET PLAYER IS A SHINING EXAMPLE
The Bicester and North Oxford Cricket Club launched the “Chance to Shine” programme in April 2007, which aims to increase cricket participation in state schools and is the largest grass roots sporting campaign in UK history.
Local schools benefiting from this scheme include Bicester Community College and Cooper School as well as many local primary schools. Darryl Woods, Captain of the 1st XI, said “it’s a privilege and a pleasure to be offered this opportunity to provide top quality cricket coaching by professional coaches to local youngsters.”
Miranda Markham said “Bicester Village has been sponsoring BNOCC for the last 5 years and we are particularly supportive of their recent work promoting cricket in the local community.”
